PRE-HOSPITAL EMERGENCY HEALTH SERVICE

Pre-hospital emergency health services in Turkey are similar to the Anglo-American model. As in this model, according to the “grab and take” principle, it is aimed to spend as little time as possible at the scene and to transfer the patient to a fast-equipped emergency room. Pre-hospital emergency health services in Turkey are provided by ambulances dispatched from Command and Control Centers that can be reached with the phone number “112”. Land and air ambulances are used for transportation to the emergency case. In ambulances, depending on the characteristics of ambulances, emergency medical technicians, physicians, paramedics and nurses work.All necessary equipment for emergency medical care is located inside the ambulance. Radios are used as the main means of communication in pre-hospital emergency health services. With the rapid development in information technology, the use of pre-hospital emergency medical team, Command and Control Center, pagers and computer systems is becoming widespread.
