NUTRITION AFTER BARIATRIC SURGERY
Nutrition is an important issue for the individual undergoing bariatric surgery. It is very important for the patient to follow the nutrition program meticulously, otherwise the patient may not reach the targeted weight. For the first 24 hours, the patient should strictly eat only liquid-oriented nutrition and then gradually switch to solid food. It is very important to chew well while consuming food. Meals should be eaten in small amounts, frequently, the diet should be rich in protein and contain moderate fat, foods containing simple carbohydrates (such as sugar and sugary foods) and high fat content that accelerate the passage of nutrients from the stomach to the intestine should not be consumed, very cold and very hot foods should not be eaten as they trigger rapid passage, and rest should be taken before and after meals.
